Impressive Listed win for Purview in the Orby Stakes
Kingman colt Purview was particularly impressive as he proved a class apart in the competitive Listed Orby Stakes at the Curragh on his seasonal bow on Saturday.
Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 24th May 2026:
Always comfortable under cover, he was angled out to unleash his kick in early straight and swamped his rivals approaching the furlong pole with the smart course specialist Trustyourinstinct looking pedestrian in his wake. Dermot Weld was as impressed as any.
"It was an excellent performance, he's a lovely colt - we've a lot to look forward to with him," he said. "He has matured and developed as I always thought he would. He was just a big, immature horse last year and I was always keen to try him over a mile and a half. He settled beautifully, got a lovely ride from Colin and you saw the rest. It's a long year and I'll discuss things with Barry [Mahon] and the owners and decide what to do. That's his ground."
