Kingman two-year-old Green Spirit wins the Gr.2 Prix d'Aumale
Juvenile Kingman filly Green Spirit claimed her second Group race success with victory in the Gr.2 Prix d'Aumale at ParisLongchamp today. The Wertheimer homebred is now unbeaten in four starts.
Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 11th September 2025, by Sean Cronin:
Alain and Gerard Wertheimer's hitherto undefeated Green Spirit made a blacktype breakthrough in last month's Gr.3 Prix Six Perfections and provided her owner-breeders, trainer Christopher Head and jockey Maxime Guyon with a quickfire pattern-race double when dominating the closing stages of Thursday's Gr.2 Prix d'Aumale at ParisLongchamp.
Positioned within range of the pace at the tail of the five-strong field through halfway, the 7-10 favourite was urged forward with 500 metres remaining and ridden out once quickening to the fore approaching the final furlong to outbattle the reopposing Six Perfections placegetter and TDN Rising Star Narissa in ultimately snug fashion. The winning margin was a length and a quarter, with a length and three-quarters back to Listed Prix des Jouvenceaux et des Jouvencelles victrix Clea Chope in third.
"She is all class and always does the minimum," reflected Head. "I wasn't worried seeing her race in last as I think, ultimately, she will have to be ridden like that. It was really, or at least it looked like, a perfect preparation for the [Gr.1] Prix Marcel Boussac. She too, like Nighttime, would not be concerned by softer ground and, hopefully, is a Classic prospect. Let us hope she can make it to a race like the [Gr.1] Prix de Diane next year."
