More Meydan success for Marbaan

Less than a month after defeating Gr.1 Summer Stakes hero Mysterious Night in the Gr.2 Al Fahidi Fort, Oasis Dream's Marbaan doubled that dose by a bigger margin in Friday's Gr.3 Ras Al Khor at Meydan.

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 8th March 2025, by Heather Anderson:

Breaking well, he settled in an ideal tracking position on the heels of the leader, Echo Point and was in a beautiful rhythm orchestrated by Ray Dawson. Shifting out to the attack at the 500-metre mark, he split horses and ground past that foe to take over. Mysterious Knight finally got loose late in the stretch, but had too much to do and Marbaan held on for the win.

"He's a super horse and his last win was very impressive, but you could say this was even more so," said Dawson. "He traveled around there so well and all I needed was a bit of space, which I knew I'd get, and he picked up really well. Michael [Costa, trainer] has found the key to him which is to keep him as relaxed as possible, as he can be a bit hot headed. Hopefully he can keep this form for World Cup night, if that's where connections decide to go, I don't know what the plan is."
